The European Forum for Risk and Insurance professionnals
Michael Lebovitz,Senior Vice President Innovation, FM Global
Why is participating at a European risk management event important to you?
FM Global is committed to building our global ecosystem of clients and partners and as FERMA is one of the premier gatherings for Europe, this is an ideal group to meet and speak with. I look forward to making some great connections here and hearing about what is important here from our European constituents.
What does “Aim for the Future” mean to you?
We operate our businesses in today’s environment, but it is important for an innovation team to be focused on the future. Not just understanding what is going on today, but looking out to tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. By focusing on the future and thinking about it now, we can prepare our organizations to meet those new and changing challenges for our companies and our clients.
You will be presenting « How does innovation help companies build and maintain business resilience?», what would you like the audience to remember after your session?
Innovation is by its nature about taking risks, doing new things in a way not done before. By working together with risk management we can ensure we do that in a way that is corporately sustainable and doesn’t create undue or excessive exposures for the organization. As I see the future of resilience for large clients, it will continue to be more and more focused on preventing loss rather than simply transferring risk, so we need to be focused on how to adapt today’s methods and technologies to help us to prevent those losses in a more effective and efficient manner going forward.
