The European Forum for Risk and Insurance professionnals
Massimo Orsini, Head of Group Cyber & Aviation Insurance, Generali
Why is participating at a European risk management event important to you?
I think that attending an event like the FERMA Forum it’s a precious and unmatched opportunity to “feel” the market. Exchanging views and listening to industry professionals and risk managers’ concerns and opinions is paramount. The first key question for us is what keeps our clients awake at night. Their challenges are our business. Participating to the most important European risk management event is a further occasion to discuss current and future market trends with our clients.
What does “Aim for the Future” mean to you?
Offer innovative solutions and take advantage of the digital transformation, with a responsible approach, carefully assessing opportunities and risks. In a global, complex economic environment that is affected by a disruptive technological innovation, insurance companies play a fundamental role in limiting risks and managing vulnerabilities. Within this context, our ambition is to become life-time partner to our clients. We aim to be present, with a long-term vision, to support them going beyond the policy being as flexible as the current fast pace environment requires. Only by doing so we can help their businesses succeed and build a path together, based on reciprocal knowledge and trust.
You will be presenting « Information security and risk assessment: from a reactive approach to a proactive one», what would you like the audience to remember after your session?
Cyber risks are continuously evolving and becoming even more challenging. Our role as insurers is to provide our clients with hard facts and knowledge on innovation. The key takeaway I would like the audience to remember is that a clear commitment is necessary to step up clients’ protection proposition from a reactive approach to a proactive one. Starting from the phase of risk assessment, there are great opportunities for insured and insurers to prepare for a better cyber resilience.
