Hélène leads the company’s Digital team, an innovation practice within its Global Technology function that is dedicated to improving processes and capabilities by leveraging emerging technologies.
Why is participating at a European risk management Forum important to you?
A significant number of innovations that are emerging in the risk management sector have been the result of a co-creation model across the value chain of insurance. Insurers and brokers are working collaboratively with risk managers where there’s a common purpose to solve a problem, where new technologies are being tested and implemented and new data insights gathered. Events such as FERMA allow new relationships to be forged; they create a sense that innovation is real and can be done.
What does « aim for the future” mean to you?
Abraham Lincoln said: « The best way to predict your future is to create it. » To aim for the future is research, learn and share. Research the future technologies and learn by doing: how they can be applied to today’s problems, create new opportunities and then share what you’ve learned with others. The more people can be educated, the more people move away from simply talking about the future and begin to create it. To aim for the future also means to create new cultures where physiological safety is key in creating a mindset where people can experiment and learn and innovate.
You will be presenting « From Data to AI: the new scope of the risk manager in 2020”. What would you like the audience to remember after your session?
IoT and AI are unlocking all sorts of new data and data connections leading to new risk management assessments. They enable better assessment of how well risk is managed, where more attention is needed and therefore where the highest flagged issues can be mitigated.
I plan to provide specific examples of technologies and solutions relevant to this.
