The European Forum for Risk and Insurance professionnals
Alison Martin, CEO EMEA & Bank Distribution, Zurich
Why is participating at a European risk management event important to you?
Taking part at a European risk management event is important to me as it gives me the opportunity to exchange with fellow risk managers. Additionally, it gives me the chance to share best practices, challenges and opportunities for us all to build resilience.
What does “Aim for the Future” mean to you?
“Aim for the Future” allows me to think about the various different paths of the future. As well as thinking about what’s happening today and the lessons learnt from the past when evaluating risks and opportunities. We need to run scenarios against many possibilities, be it societal change, technological, scientific, environmental etc. in order to ‘future proof’ our plans.
You will be presenting « Managing reputation risk in today’s interconnected world », what would you like the audience to remember after your session?
In result of my session “Managing Reputation Risk in Today’s Interconnected World”, I would like to leave my audience thinking, ‘What would you do if your use of AI was on the front page for being sexist?’ I would like them to absorb the fact that: the speed, complexity and interconnection of technological and scientific developments in today’s world make building resilience even more critical. The audience should remember after my session that, being clear about what their company stands for, its purpose and values, provides a lens through which to evaluate risks and opportunities to help manage their reputation.
