The European Forum for Risk and Insurance professionnals
FERMA has chosen Aim for the future as the theme for its 2019 Risk Management Forum. The topics that we have chosen will affect all of us: the future of the European project, the complex trade environment, technology and security, sustainability and the future of insurance.
Therefore we’re excited to be counting down to Berlin this November ! Don’t forget to sign up to attend. To get a glimpse of the action, the two following topics were already FERMA’s main focus discussion back in 2018 Seminar in Antwerp:
The European Commission estimates at least 80% of businesses have experienced a cybersecurity incident in the last year. In 2018, FERMA published three reports to support risk professionals and insurance buyers in dealing with cyber threats and understand risk transfer options:
Sustainability has always been at the heart of the role of the risk manager, so that their organisations are resilient to shocks and can continue to fulfill their objectives. In the 21st century, that vision has widened, because companies are increasingly asked to be good corporate citizens and to play a part in our overall adaptation to climate change. FERMA’s aim last year was to support and promote the risk manager in ensuring the sustainability of organisations as responsible business conduct and climate change are risk management issues.
In response to the public consultation on the evaluation of the EU’s Strategy on Adaptation to Climate Change, FERMA made 3 recommendations.
Following the October 2018 FERMA seminar in Antwerp, FERMA published a sustainability report which detailed lessons presented during the session on corporate conduct at the seminar.
